Located just outside Siem Reap, Cambodia, the jungles of Angkor offer a distinguished opportunity to explore the rich history and remarkable architecture of the Khmer Empire. Once concealed beneath dense vegetation, the temples of Angkor now stand as one of the world's largest religious monuments. Among them, Angkor Wat is particularly notable for its grand scale and intricate carvings. Visitors also pass through the formidable gates of Angkor Thom, the final capital of the Khmer Empire, to examine the renowned Bayon Temple.

After flying into the Singapore International Airport, you will be met outside of Customs and transferred to your hotel. Check-in time is at 15:00 Uhr, and while every effort will be made to have rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed. Following check out and excess luggage storage, you will transfer to the Singapore International Airport. Upon arrival, proceed through check-in for your flight to Siem Reap. You will be accompanied on the flight by a representative from our local ground agency.

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and assisted with obtaining your Cambodian Entry Visa. You will then proceed to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once this has been issued, proceed to a local restaurant for lunch.

HINWEIS: Your passport will be kept by our program operations team in order to process the visa on arrival and for exit procedures on departure day. Your passport will be safely returned to you on Day 4.

This afternoon, explore the archaeological treasures of Angkor Wat, the highlight of your program and seat of the once mighty Angkor Empire. It was from here that kings ruled over a vast territory that extended from the tip of what is now southern Vietnam, northward to Yunnan in China, and westward to the Bay of Bengal.

Your expert guide will show you the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amid the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gazing up at the intricately carved tower tops, or climb the steep, narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards.

Contemplate the temple's spiritual power while you stroll in the cool shade of its hallways, stopping to take in the perfume of burning incense. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of sun dancing off the bas relief carvings at sunset, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel to freshen up. Enjoy a group dinner either at the hotel or at a local restaurant (TBA).

Following breakfast, you will venture to the city of Angkor Thom including the renowned Bayon Temple built in the 12th Century, the Terrace of the Leper King and the Elephant Terrace, a sandstone wall covered with carved hunting scenes and three-headed elephants.

Continue to visit the un-restored temple of Ta Prohm which is famous for its forest atmosphere and enormous fig trees. This morning, you will discover the center of Apopo, a registered Belgian non-governmental organization and US non-profit which is known for training southern giant pouched rats to detect landmines and tuberculosis using their advanced sense of smell, making detection safer and more efficient.

At Apopo’s Siem Reap center, you will be able to tour a museum about global mine clearance challenges and see demonstrations of the trained rats at work. The animals are not harmed in any way here.

After an enlightening morning, return to your hotel for some free time and lunch on own. Later in the afternoon, check out, settling any incidental charges before you depart and then transfer to the airport for a flight back to Singapore.

Upon arrival at Singapore’s Changi Airport, a local English-speaking representative will be waiting in arrivals to greet you. • Halten Sie nach einer Person mit einem Schild mit dem Logo der Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft und möglicherweise Ihrem Namen Ausschau. Bitten Sie im Zweifel Mitarbeiter des Flughafens um Hilfe, um zum Treffpunkt für Transfers zu gelangen oder unseren Betreuer zu informieren.

• Abholung und Transfer werden für Gäste organisiert, die am ersten Tag des Landprogramms anreisen oder wenn zusätzliche Übernachtungen über die Kreuzfahrtgesellschaft gebucht werden. Die Abholung erfolgt entsprechend den Flugdaten, die Gäste bitte mindestens 14 Tage vor Beginn der Kreuzfahrt einsenden. Gäste, die vor Beginn der Reise in Eigenregie anreisen, erhalten keinen Transfer.

• Sollten wir Ihre Flugdaten nicht erhalten haben oder sich Ihre Flüge ändern, ohne dass das Destination Services Team an Land darüber informiert wurde, können wir keinen Transfer bereitstellen. Voraussichtliches Wetter:

Hot and Dry. The average midday temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. The sun can be quite intense, and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity. Though sometimes quite hot, the lack of rain still leaves this good time of year to visit the temples.

Was Sie mitbringen sollten:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing. Full length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat.

Although dinners are not formal, you may want to bring something a bit dressier for that time of day.

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses and mosquito repellant (suggested for sunrise and sunset hours). It is also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes as well as to bring flat, comfortable, closed toe walking shoes.

Visitors to any religious sites will be required to take off footwear and hats.

Währung:

The local currency is the Cambodian Riel but U.S. Dollars are commonly accepted in Cambodia. You should take smaller denominations of U.S. Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

Stromspannung:

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own universal adapter should you have electronic devices.

Water:

Avoid tap water and drinks with ice in them. Drink mineral water and drinks in sealed containers. Water at the hotels in both Singapore and Siem Reap is potable.

Gepäck:

Guests will be permitted to bring a maximum of one checked suitcase (20 kg or 44lbs) and one small carry on free of charge. Any additional or overweight pieces will be in excess, and fees will be paid to the airline at your expense when checking in for the flights.

For this reason, luggage storage will be available at the hotel in Singapore and you will be re-united with it on Day 4 upon your return to Singapore.

Please ensure that all excess bags to be stored are tagged properly and visibly with your full name and suite number on the ship. Note that Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the hotel, nor our local ground operator are liable for any lost or missing items. We do not recommend leaving valuables behind or in checked luggage. You should keep any valuables, medications and documents with you in your carry-on handbag.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline. Please advise RSSC of the specifics at least 14 days before sailing.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC upon booking this program if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flights used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

* Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

Reiseunterlagen:

Guests must carry a valid passport with at least 6 months validity after the program dates and have spare pages for the Cambodian Visa. Visas will be issued on arrival in Siem Reap and are included in the cost of the program.

Guests are required to submit an electronic Singapore Arrival Card within three days prior to arrival into Singapore. They are not permitted any earlier. Please follow instructions on this website https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/ or through the official “MyICA” mobile application. Submissions are free of charge.

All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are also now required to submit a Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase for this program otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Failure to have the required documents ahead of time or incorrect names on flight tickets will result in either denial of travel or ticket re-purchase and guests will be responsible for any fees incurred.
