  • Discover Montebello, a charming riverside village that blends natural beauty with rich heritage. Highlights include a two-day escape to Montebello to explore Parc Omega and its native wildlife, a traditional meal at a sugar shack to taste authentic maple syrup and time to relax in the scenic surroundings of Le Château Montebello. Stay in a luxurious Fairmont hotel built in classic log construction, offering many amenities and set within a historic and picturesque setting. Your journey concludes with a guided tour of Montreal, where you will discover must-see locations and enjoy tastings of local specialties.

Special Note: The maximum group size is 20 guests. This program is not recommended for guests who require use of wheelchair, scooter, walker or cane. Please advise the RSSC Reservations team when you book this program should you have any special dietary restrictions or requirements. Requests will be sent to our local ground operators for review.

    DAY 1

Disembark the ship in Montreal, meet your guide and board the coach.

First you will visit the magnificent 19th-century Notre-Dame Basilica. Its stained-glass windows depict the history of Ville-Marie, Montreal's original name. After the visit, board the coach and continue the route toward Montebello, a municipality along the Ottawa River. The leisurely drive is through countryside which is a mixture of farmland and forest. While fairly flat along the Ottawa River, the Gatineau Hills are nearby making it pretty anytime of the year but sensational in autumn when the trees change color.

Along the way you will have a stop at La Sucrerie de la Montagne. This traditional sugar shack offers an authentic taste of maple syrup. Designated a Quebec heritage site, this charming spot is nestled among century-old maple trees and is renowned for its signature maple products. Discovering their site will give you a glimpse into the past of Canadian and Quebec ancestors. While there, you will have the chance to take a short tour, enjoy classic dishes for lunch, and purchase local products.

After lunch, continue your journey to Montebello. After arriving at your hotel, you'll have the rest of the afternoon to settle in, explore the site and enjoy the natural surroundings. Dinner is on your own.

Château Montebello is the largest log structure ever built and often serves as a conference center for the Canadian government and its guests. Among other things, it has hosted several NATO conferences, a Canada/US/Mexico summit, and a G7 Summit.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide and transfer to beautiful Parc Omega.

Here, you will enjoy a two-and-a-half-hour guided tour of the park. It offers a unique opportunity to experience Canadian wildlife in a natural and immersive setting. Located in Montebello this 2,200-acre wildlife park features a 12-kilometer safari trail where visitors can observe over 20 species of North American animals, such as elk, bison, moose, wolves, and bears, all in semi-liberty. Beyond the drive-through experience, the park also offers themed walking trails highlighting Indigenous culture and early Canadian settlement. Parc Omega is an exceptional destination for nature enthusiasts looking to discover Canada's wildlife and heritage in a respectful and educational environment.

Afterwards, you will return to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Your hotel offers a perfect blend of relaxation and outdoor adventure. You will be able to enjoy a variety of activities such as kayaking or paddleboarding on the Ottawa River, playing tennis, mini-golf, or exploring scenic trails by bike or on foot. For a more relaxing experience, you can visit the spa or take a dip in the indoor pool.

With its rich heritage and beautiful natural surroundings, the resort is an ideal place to spend a memorable afternoon, whether you're looking for an active day or a peaceful retreat.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, meet your guide and return to Montreal.

Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour of Montreal including three tasting stops featuring local products.

Your exploration of the city begins with the Golden Square Mile. Once home to Canada's Anglophone, predominantly Scottish, upper class, this beautiful neighborhood – named after the square mile it covered – is lined with gorgeous Victorian homes, leafy parks and trees and a plethora of architectural masterpieces. You will be able to see McGill University and other highlights of this area.

Next, you will pass through the International District for your first tasting stop at La Fabrique Bagel. While there, you will have the opportunity to explore the iconic World Trade Center Montreal, which features a stunning blend of historic architecture and modern design, including a glass atrium, art installations, and a piece of the Berlin Wall.

This city tour would not be complete without a stop in Old Montreal, where you will have two other tastings. In this area, you'll enjoy a small walking tour which will give you the chance to see Place d’Armes. This is Montreal most iconic public squares, steeped in history and surrounded by architectural landmarks.

Afterwards, you will be taken back to the bus and dropped off at your hotel where the rest of the day is at leisure. Lunch and dinner are on own.

    DAY 4

Following breakfast at the hotel, settle any incidentals and check out. Your private transfer to the Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport will be based on your flight time. A representative at the hospitality desk will be available to assist with your departure. Check out time at the hotel is 12:00pm.

Should you have a late flight, luggage storage is available at reception until your transfer.

Note: Solo travelers will transfer in a sedan and couples in a van. Sedans hold 2 pieces of luggage plus 2 smaller carryon size bags. Vans hold 4 pieces of luggage plus 2 -3 smaller carry-on sized bags. Should you have more luggage than is permissible, a larger vehicle may be required with additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 21 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required.

Land Program Details Step by Step:

•Please note: The order of sites visited may vary to avoid congestion.

•Itineraries with the most up to date details (at the time) will be issued when you are emailed your final cruise documents 21 days prior to sailing.

•Final itineraries with the most up to date details will be provided by the Destination Services Team once you board the ship. Please review your final itinerary carefully for any amendments.

  • Explore Ottawa, Canada’s capital city and enjoy Montreal’s exquisite architecture, distinctive cuisine and European-influenced atmosphere.

    DAY 1

Following disembarkation in Montreal you will be introduced to various areas of the city that reflect its cultural diversity and French charm.

See McGill University and enjoy a short walk at the summit of Mt. Royal Park for a panoramic view of the city.

Then, it’s on to the Mile End, a creative neighborhood, for a taste of a traditional Montreal bagel and then to famed Little Italy for a stroll through the sprawling Jean-Talon Market, complete with tastings from local producers.

Next, you will visit a local restaurant for lunch.

This City Tour would not be complete without a stop in Old Montreal, where you will visit the magnificent 19th-Century Notre-Dame Basilica. Its stained-glass windows depict the history of Ville-Marie, the original name of Montreal.

After an orientation tour on the bus, you will be given the option to follow your guide for a short walking tour of Old Montreal or be given some free time to explore on your own. You will then be taken to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Dinner will be on your own. Your hotel is located in the heart of downtown Montreal.

Included in your program is the admission to La Grande Roue de Montréal in Old Montréal which you can experience on your own during your stay (tickets to be provided upon arrival, with your Welcome Letter or at the Hospitality Desk). Built in 2017, La Grande Roue de Montréal has quickly become a major Icon of the Montreal skyline. With its 60 meters high, La Grande Roue de Montréal is the tallest structure of its kind in Canada. Treat yourself during the day for a panoramic view of up to 28 km / 17 miles on a clear day, or in the evening to see the city lights from an exciting angle.

    DAY 2

After breakfast at your hotel, you will set out for the 2-hour and 15-minute drive to Ottawa, Canada’s vibrant and beautiful capital city as chosen by Queen Victoria in 1857.

Over the past century, this former lumber town has gracefully blossomed into a cosmopolitan city filled with neo-gothic government buildings, gardens and parks.

Upon arrival in Ottawa, you will travel along Sussex Drive and view the Prime Minister and General Governor’s residences. Downtown, you will see Parliament Hill and take a drive along the Rideau Canal – the brilliant waterway that cuts through Ottawa’s downtown. This famous waterway turns into the world’s longest skating rink in the winter.

After this orientation tour, enjoy some free time at the ByWard Market to grab a bite for lunch on your own and do some further exploring before being picked up for the continuation of the tour.

Established by Lt-Col. John By in 1826, the ByWard Market is one of Canada's oldest and largest public markets. Within an area roughly four blocks square, you'll find museums, cafés, specialty food shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, pubs and more! Easily accessible on foot, the ByWard Market offers a unique experience for all.

After some time at the market, visit the Canadian Museum of History. After a guided tour of the museum, you will explore the Canadian History Hall. Opened on July 1st, 2017 as a gift to the people of Canada for the 150th anniversary of Confederation, this gallery traces Canada’s history from the dawn of human habitation to the present day. Authentic artifacts and stories are explored through various lenses, as you will encounter the events, movements and personalities that have shaped our nation, and whose influence on our lives can still be felt today.

Return to Montreal where the remainder of the day is at your leisure with dinner on your own.

    DAY 3

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide and transfer to Jardin Botanique de Montréal to enjoy the natural beauty of this city’s jewel. Recognized as one of the world’s greatest botanical gardens, it displays a collection of over 22,000 plant species and cultivars, 10 exhibition greenhouses, Frédéric Back Tree Pavilion, and more than 20 thematic gardens spread out over 75 hectares.

After your visit, return to your hotel where lunch and the remainder of the day is yours to spend at leisure, allowing time to visit the city on your own taking in more sights not seen on this itinerary or perhaps to shop for Canadian souvenirs.

    DAY 4

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Check-out is at 12:00pm. You will be transferred to the Montreal International Airport based on your flight details. Should you have a late flight, luggage storage will be available at the hotel.
