Land Programs & Hotels

  • Experience the rich tapestry of the United Arab Emirates on a journey that blends architectural grandeur, world-class art, and the timeless allure of the desert. This carefully crafted program invites you to explore cultural icons such as the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the globally renowned Louvre Abu Dhabi. Spend three serene nights at the luxurious Marriott Al Wathba Desert Resort, where modern comfort meets Bedouin charm. Amid golden dunes and starlit skies, thrill to a dune-bashing adventure and unwind in tranquil surroundings. Each experience offers a window into the UAE’s soul — a harmonious blend of heritage, innovation, and natural beauty.

    Special Note:

•Please advise the RSSC Reservations team when you book this program should you have any special dietary restrictions or requirements. Requests will be sent to our local ground operators for review.

    DAY 1

Upon arrival at the Abu Dhabi Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to the Marriott Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa. Drive time is approximately 1 hour from the airport.

A transfer is included for guests flying to Abu Dhabi on this day. Should your flight arrive in Dubai, additional charges will apply.

Nestled in the serene surroundings of the desert, this resort offers a peaceful retreat away from the city and this first day offers a gentle introduction to your desert escape, allowing you to settle in, unwind, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings at your own pace.

As the sun sets over the dunes, take a moment to reflect and look forward to the enriching experiences that await in this enchanting desert haven.

Standard check-in time is 3:00pm. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee room availability upon arrival, or you may choose to store luggage at Reception and begin to enjoy the facilities of the resort.

Lunch and dinner will be on your own arrangement, with several dining options available at the hotel.

Note: Single guests will transfer in a sedan and couples in a van. Sedans hold 2 pieces of luggage plus 2 carryon size bags. Vans hold 4 pieces of luggage plus 2 -3 carry-on sized bags. Should you have more luggage than is permissible, a larger vehicle may be required with additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 21 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required.

    DAY 2

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the resort, followed by a leisurely morning to unwind or explore the serene desert surroundings at your own pace.

In the late afternoon, set off with the group for an exhilarating dune bashing adventure across the golden sands, followed by a desert-style dinner under the stars.

A 45-minute drive will bring you deep into the golden expanse of the Al Khatim Desert, renowned for its soaring sand dunes that rise up to 300 meters (984 feet). Your desert adventure begins as your experienced desert driver deflates the tires to adapt to the ever-shifting sands—before setting off on an exhilarating dune bashing experience. Feel the thrill as you climb steep dune faces and descend into sweeping valleys, surrounded by the dramatic beauty of the open desert.

As the sun begins to set, pause atop one of the dunes to take in the panoramic views and capture unforgettable photographs of the desert bathed in golden light.

Continue to a traditional Bedouin-style desert camp where you will enjoy a dinner under the stars all while being captivated by live performances, including belly dancing, tanoura dancing, and a mesmerizing fire show. You may also choose to try camel riding, sandboarding, or have your hands adorned with henna designs, immersing yourself in timeless desert traditions.

After this magical evening, return to your hotel in the comfort of your 4x4, with lasting memories of your desert escape.

**Note: Guests do not drive. The dune dinner safari takes place in 4-wheel drive vehicles and the drive can be quite bumpy. This is not recommended for anyone with bad backs or if they are pregnant. We recommend having a light lunch prior to the commencement of the tour. Please wear casual clothing and bring a light sweater or jacket for the evening hours. This tour is subject to weather conditions. Seating for the dinner is on low divan cushions as per the typical Bedouin way of dining

    DAY 3

After breakfast at the resort, enjoy a leisurely day at your own pace, enjoying the luxurious amenities and tranquil desert setting—whether it's lounging by the pool, visiting the spa or take part in any of the included activities below:

    Archery (45 minutes)

Test your precision and focus with one of the world’s oldest hunting techniques. In this engaging competition, participants shoot arrows at targets marked with concentric rings, aiming for the gold center to score maximum points. A perfect blend of tradition and sport, this is a chance to channel your inner archer.

    Camel Ride (1 hr.)

Experience the timeless charm of desert travel on a traditional camel ride. As you sway gently across the sand, discover why camels have long been revered and remain a vital symbol of the region's culture and heritage.

    Falcon Show (1 hr.)

Delve into the rich legacy of Arab falconry in this captivating show. Watch majestic birds of prey soar and dive under the guidance of skilled falconers, who will share insights into the history, techniques, and cultural significance of this ancient art. A truly memorable journey into the heart of Middle Eastern tradition.

    Note:

Timings for the above activities will be provided in your Welcome Letter or communicated by the resort staff.

Lunch is at your leisure today, giving you the flexibility to dine whenever it suits you best.

For moments of relaxation, you may indulge in treatments at the Saray Spa (additional cost), maintain your routine at the fully equipped fitness center, or simply unwind by the breathtaking infinity pool overlooking the desert.

In the evening, savor an included, delightful dinner at the resort.

    DAY 4

Following breakfast, check out and begin the journey through the ever-changing desert and urban landscapes towards Abu Dhabi city, a one hour drive away.

Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic city tour showcasing the vibrant contrasts of Abu Dhabi, where contemporary architecture rises alongside cultural landmarks. Your first stop is the awe-inspiring Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world and a true masterpiece of Islamic design, adorned with marble domes, intricate mosaics, and reflective pools.

Continue to the renowned Louvre Abu Dhabi where you’ll explore a world-class collection of art, history, and culture housed under the museum’s iconic floating dome. The curated galleries blend Eastern and Western influences, offering a rich, cross-cultural experience.

Following this introductory tour, transfer to the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal where you will embark the ship.

**Note: The Grand Mosque does not provide ladies a headscarf or abaya free of charge and there are very few shop on sight to buy them. Ladies, please come prepared with something to cover you head or entrance will unfortunately be denied. • Indulge your senses with some of ancient history’s most renowned relics Set off on an unforgettable journey through Egypt’s legendary past. Arrive in Luxor, known as the world’s greatest open-air museum, where you’ll discover awe-inspiring temples and tombs from antiquity. The adventure continues in Cairo, Africa’s largest city, with visits to the renowned Grand Egyptian Museum and the iconic Pyramids of Giza—the last of the ancient wonders—alongside the timeless Sphinx.

    Special Notes:

•Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below about airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

•This program involves extensive walking over uneven ground and is thus not suitable for guests with walking difficulties or for those who require a wheelchair.

    Day 1

Disembark the ship in Safaga and begin the 3.5-hour drive to Luxor. Upon arrival, a stop will be made for lunch before continuing across the Nile River to the west bank for a visit to the Valley of the Kings.

Hidden in the foothills of the Gourma Mountains, this desert valley is home to the remarkable tombs of Egypt’s ancient kings, their families, and other members of the nobility. More than 60 tombs have been excavated here, each offering insight into the beliefs and burial practices of the New Kingdom. Ample time is allotted to explore the site at your own pace.

Enjoy a short photo stop at the Temple of Hatshepsut, a striking mortuary temple built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Buried under sand for centuries, the temple was commissioned by Hatshepsut—the only woman to rule Egypt as pharaoh—and features a series of grand terraces and square granite columns that blend seamlessly with the surrounding mountainside.

A second photo stop follows at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues that once flanked the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Although the temple itself was destroyed by an earthquake and little remains of its original structure, the statues continue to stand guard over the site, offering a powerful glimpse into Egypt’s monumental past.

Next, visit Luxor Temple, a breathtaking monument that has stood at the heart of the city for more than three millennia. Originally commissioned by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramses II, the temple was designed to honor the divine rulers of Egypt and the sacred rituals of kingship. Ramses II added colossal statues of himself and two towering obelisks to the entrance—though today, only one remains in place. The second was gifted to France in 1831 and now stands in the Place de la Concorde in Paris.

Over the centuries, the temple continued to evolve. Alexander the Great rebuilt the sanctuary in the 4th century B.C., and later, portions were reconstructed under Roman rule. A mosque was eventually built within the complex, reflecting the temple’s enduring significance across cultures and eras.

Following your visit to the Luxor Temple, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in.

In the evening, enjoy a buffet dinner at your hotel.

    DAY

After an early wake-up call, breakfast boxes will be provided by the hotel prior to departing for the Luxor Airport. From here, you will board a flight to Cairo, with a flight time of approximately 60 minutes.

Upon arrival in Cairo, recognized as the largest city in Africa and the Middle East, you will be transferred to a deluxe hotel for a buffet breakfast. Following breakfast, the day’s touring will begin.

Your first visit of the day will be to the Grand Egyptian Museum, considered to be the largest archeological museum in Africa and the Middle East, where the world’s most important pieces of Egypt’s ancient history are on display.

Spanning approximately 500,000 square meters, it houses over 100,000 artifacts showcasing Egypt's rich history. GEM's galleries offer a chronological journey through 3,000 years of Egyptian history, with exhibits from the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms.

One of the highlights of your visit will be King Tutankhamen exhibition hall where the full collection of the Boy King are displayed in one place.

After your museum visit, continue to one of the most iconic sites in all of Egypt—the Pyramids of Giza. These monumental structures, built over 4,500 years ago, are the only remaining wonder of the Ancient World. Nearby stands the enigmatic Sphinx.

The Giza Plateau is home to three major pyramids, each built as a royal tomb by the pharaohs Cheops, his son Chephren, and Chephren’s son Mykerinus. These monumental structures were designed to house their mummified remains and support their journey to the afterlife. Located within the greater Cairo area, the pyramids remain a powerful symbol of ancient Egypt’s engineering mastery and spiritual beliefs.

Situated in front of the Pyramid of Chephren stands the legendary Great Sphinx, guardian of the Giza Plateau. This monumental statue, with the body of a lion and the head of a human, was carved from a single piece of bedrock and remains one of the most iconic symbols of ancient Egypt. Its imposing presence has inspired awe for millennia and is considered a national emblem of both Ancient and Modern Egypt.

At each site you will have ample time to walk around and take photos although no inside visits are permitted. Please be aware that there will be vendors selling merchandise and camel rides which you can do but are at your own risk.

Lunch will be in a deluxe restaurant prior to the drive back to the Cairo Airport for the flight to Hurghada which is located approximately 60 km / 37 miles away from the port. Once you have arrived you will be met and transferred to Safaga where you will reboard the ship.

They were carved out of the sandstone rock on the west bank of the Nile River and feature four colossal statues of Ramses at the entryway.

To save these UNESCO World Heritage site temples from the rising waters of the Nile after the Aswan Dam was built in the mid-20th century, they were disassembled block by block and reconstructed on higher ground.

After viewing these awe-inspiring temples, you will board the awaiting plane for a two-hour flight to Cairo. You will then check into the Four Seasons hotel for the evening. A delightful dinner will be served at the hotel.

    DAY 2

Following an early-morning breakfast at the hotel and check-out, you will drive into Old Cairo, where your first visit of the day will be a medieval Islamic fortress known simply as The Citadel. You will also see the adjacent Mosque of Muhammad Ali, which is often called the Alabaster Mosque due to the extensive use of that stone throughout the building. The mosque is the largest such structure built in Cairo during the first half of the 19th century and looks impressive even from a distance.

Next, you will visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest archaeological museum. Of all its priceless artifacts, the items from King Tutankhamen’s tomb are the highlight as this is the first time that the full collection has been displayed in one place. Other attractions include pieces from pre-historic times, from the ancient Greek and Roman periods in Egyptian history and the Grand Staircase, which is lined with statues, sphinxes and temples.

Following lunch at a nearby restaurant, you will visit one of the remaining wonders of the ancient world – the great Pyramids and the Sphinx.

The Giza Plateau consists of three major pyramids or tombs, built by the Pharaohs Cheops, his son Chephren and Chephern's son Mykerinus, where their mummified bodies would rest for eternity.

Situated in front of the pyramids of Chephren is the guardian of this ancient mortuary complex: the legendary Great Sphinx. This monumental statue with the body of a lion and head of a human was carved from a single piece of Giza plateau bedrock and is considered a national symbol of both ancient and modern Egypt.

At each site you will have ample time to walk around and take photos, although inside visits are not permitted. Please be aware that there will be vendors selling merchandise and camel rides, which you should do only at your own risk.

Following this enlightening visit, drive to the Cairo Airport for a flight to Hurghada. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the port of Safaga and re-board the ship.

  • Explore the beauty and mystery of Egypt’s ancient temples and tombs during this memorable journey to Luxor.

Along the way, you will visit the Karnak, Luxor and Hatshepsut Temples, Colossi of Memnon and both the Valley of the Kings and the Queens.

    Day 1

Upon disembarking the ship in Safaga, meet your guide and depart for the 3.5-hour drive to Luxor.

Upon arrival you will enjoy lunch then visit the Karnak temple.

Located about two miles north of the Luxor Temple but connected to it by an impressive avenue of sphinxes, the Karnak Temple was the most important sanctuary of ancient Egypt, and the heart of the cult of the god Amon. Each pharaoh added his own contribution to the temple over the ensuing 2,000 years.

The Ptolemies erected the massive first pylon you will see. Past the second pylon, which is guarded by a pair of huge statues of Ramses II, you will find the great hypo-style hall, the largest hall of any temple in the world. It spans 50,000 square feet and contains 134 enormous columns. You may notice that some of the columns still have traces of the brilliant paint that originally covered them. The third pylon leads to the centre court, and past the fourth pylon is the 97-foot-high obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut, carved from a solid piece of pink granite.

As you pass through successive pylons and courts, you will journey back in time until you reach the oldest part of the temple, built by the pharaohs of the middle kingdom around 2000 B.C. At the south end of the temple, you will find the sacred lake where ceremonial boats took part in the worship of Amon.

NOTE: Cameras and video cameras are permitted inside the Karnak Temple free of charge.

Following Karnak Temple visit you will visit the Luxor Temple, which was originally built during the reign of Amenophis the III and then expanded by Ramses II, who added a statue of himself and two obelisks.

Today, only one of the statues remains at the Luxor Temple; Mohamed Ali gave the other one to Louis Philippe in 1831 and it is displayed at the Concorde in Paris. After Alexander, the Great rebuilt the sanctuary in the 4th century B.C., the Romans subsequently rebuilt portions of it, and then the Muslims built a mosque in the temple.

NOTE: Cameras and video cameras are permitted inside Luxor Temple free-of-charge.

Transfer to your hotel for check in before departing for a visit to the Luxor Museum.

This marvelous museum overlooks the west bank of the Nile River and has an amazing collection of ancient artifacts. Displays range from magnificent pharaonic art to items used in everyday life, such as pottery and jewelry, including a carefully selected assortment of items from the Theban temples and necropolis.

Back to your hotel, enjoy a buffet dinner before retiring for the evening.

    DAY 2

Following a morning buffet breakfast, you will cross over the Nile to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, hidden in the foothills of the Gourma Mountains. More than 60 tombs of pharaohs and noble people have been excavated in this valley. The kings’ formal names and titles are inscribed in their tombs, along with their images and statues. Between the 18th and 20th dynasties, the kings abandoned the Memphis area and built their tombs in Thebes.

Enjoy a special visit to the longest and one of the most beautiful tombs in the valley known as Seti I Tomb. It is still recognized as an elaborately decorated monument from the times of Seti I and his son, Ramesses II.

The most fascinating aspects of the tomb are the well-crafted decorations that brought antiquity to vivid life.

Next you will visit King Tutankhamun's tomb where his mummy still rests, and if time permits, you may be able to have a look into one or two other tombs in the area.

NOTE: Mobile cameras, regular cameras and video cameras are not permitted inside Seti 1st & King Tut tombs.

Mobile cameras are allowed and free of charge inside other valley tombs.

Continuing on, enjoy a photo stop at the Hatshepsut Temple, whose unique design features a series of grand terraces extending up a cliff with rows of square granite columns blending in with the mountainside.

From here, you will proceed for a visit to Valley of the Queens where you will be visiting Queen Nefertari’s Tomb known for its lavish decoration and colors – it is one of the largest and most spectacular in the Valley of the Queens. Nefertari Meritmut was an Egyptian queen and the first of the great royal wife’s (or principal wife) of Ramses the great. The number of visitors here per day is limited and prior permission to visit must be requested.

This has been specially arranged for our group.

NOTE: There are a series of steps (up to 20 steps per chamber) to go down into the various tombs and the ground surrounding the tombs is uneven and dusty. It is also extremely hot here.

Mobile cameras, regular cameras and video cameras are not permitted inside Nefertari tomb.

Next, a photo stop will be made at the Colossi of Memnon. This structure was originally built as a mortuary temple in Thebes and guarded by two gigantic statues on the outer gates. All that remains today are the 75-foot-high, 1,000-ton statues of Amenhotep III. Though damaged by nature and ancient tourists, the statues are still impressive, nonetheless.

Finally, you will embark on a Dahabeya boat for a cruise along the Nile including lunch. Arriving at your hotel, you will check-out and depart for the 3.5-hours’ drive back to Safaga. Upon arrival, you will proceed directly to the pier and re-embark the ship.
