Land Programs & Hotels

  • Enjoy a luxurious stay in one of Europe’s most captivating destinations, where history, culture, and coastal beauty come together effortlessly. Based at the five-star Tivoli Hotel, ideally located in the heart of the city, you will experience a thoughtfully curated programme showcasing the very best of the region. Highlights include a serene sunset cruise along the River Tagus, offering picturesque views of the city’s iconic skyline, as well as explorations beyond the capital to the elegant resort towns of Sintra, Estoril, and Cascais, each renowned for their charm, heritage, and scenic splendor.

Price: $1,899 per guest based on double occupancy.

Hotel and Land Program pricing is not combinable with FREE 1-Night Pre-Cruise Luxury Hotel Package. If applicable, please contact Regent Seven Seas Cruises or your travel agent for multi-night pre-cruise hotel pricing information. Land program promotions are subject to terms.

  • Become immersed in the joys of Lisbon by visiting the capital city’s most well-known attractions and neighborhoods, watching a traditional Fado performance and exploring palaces in the nearby foothills.

Note: This program does include some walking at times over uneven ground or steps. It is not recommended for guests who require sole use of a wheelchair, walker or motorized scooter.

    DAY 1

After flying into the Lisbon airport, you will be met outside of customs and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.

Check in is 2:00pm and while every effort will be made to have rooms available earlier, this cannot be guaranteed.

Spend the remainder of the day settling in and enjoying the amenities of your hotel.

Your hotel is a luxury boutique hotel born on the site of the former governor's house of the Tower of Belém. Enjoy two swimming pools, a restaurant beneath vaulted ceilings, and a modern spa. Located near the Tagus River and top museums, this refined retreat blends history, culture, and comfort for an unforgettable experience.

Note: Solo travellers will transfer in a sedan and couples or two guests on a cruise booking in a van. Sedans hold 2 pieces of luggage plus 2 carry-on size bags. Vans hold 4 pieces of luggage plus 2-3 carry-on size bags. If you have more luggage than is permissible, a larger vehicle may be required for an additional cost. Please advise your booking agent at least 21 days before sailing if a larger vehicle is required.

    DAY 2

Enjoy breakfast, meet your guide and depart on a scenic drive towards the Belem Quarter, where you can admire the Monument of Discoveries, the Tower of Belém and Jeronimos Monastery. Continuing to downtown Lisbon, you will pass lovely Liberdade Avenue, the elegant shopping area of Chiado and the heart of the commercial area, Praça do Comércio and Alfama.

Alfama takes its name from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning fountains or baths. It contains many important historical attractions and traditional Fado restaurants along its narrow and winding streets. The medieval Castle of São Jorge overlooks the Alfama and offers one of the best views of the city.

Also see the Lisbon Cathedral, also known as the Sé. Although it looks like a medieval fortress, the interior is glorious and includes the font where St. Anthony of Padua was supposedly baptized in the 12th century. Note: an interior visit is not made.

By midday, you will return to the hotel to spend the afternoon at your leisure, or you may remain in the city center and return on your own.

The entertainment for the evening will be at a typical Fado restaurant. Here, you will enjoy a traditional Portuguese dinner and watch a Fado show. Fado is Portuguese folk music that is melancholy by nature and usually played on guitars and mandolins. The lyrics tend to be poetic and involve themes such as love and sadness.

Following this authentic cultural experience, you will return to the hotel.

Note: On Tuesdays and Saturdays, Feira da Ladra (flea market) takes place in the Alfama quarter and traffic circulation may be somewhat affected.

    DAY 3

After departing from the hotel, you will pass through some of Portugal’s most inspiring countryside on the way to Mafra. Here, at the revered Palace of Mafra, which was constructed of local limestone and marble in the 18th century, you will behold priceless art and period furnishings that were characteristic of the royal lifestyle. At one time, the palace also served as a Franciscan monastery.

After visiting the extraordinary palace, you will continue even deeper into the countryside to the Adega Mãe, home to approximately 40 hectares of vineyards with a production capacity of somewhere near 1,5 million litres per year. In its cellar, white, red and rosé wines are produced. The productive infrastructure is equipped with modern and sophisticated machinery, combining cutting-edge technology and traditional approach.

While touring this modern and architecturally innovative vineyard, you will get to know the white and red wine presses, the grandeur of the storage and fermentation tanks. Take a peek into the laboratory and visit the Time Room (“Sala do tempo”), where aromas combine with the scent of French Oak barrels; witness the repose of their Reserva, and finish things off with a tasting while you take in the views of the vineyard.

Following lunch at the winery, you will return to the hotel along a spectacularly scenic coastal route. The remainder of the day and dinner will be on your own to enjoy as you please.

    DAY 4

After departing from the hotel, you will drive to Sintra, a beautiful town nestled in the forested foothills of the Sintra mountains. Your experience here begins with free time to wander about the atmospheric streets, enjoy the sweeping views and thoroughly relax.

Not far away, you will find Pena Palace, a landmark that was built in the 19th century to be a royal summer home. Inside and out, it looks like an eccentric mix of different castle styles and features. Now hailed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Portugal’s Seven Wonders, the flamboyant palace exemplifies 19th-century Romantic architecture, inside and out.

Following your visit to Pena Palace, you will return to Lisbon and embark the cruise ship. Note: Interior visit at the palace is self-guided.

A hospitality desk will be available at the hotel (location and time to be advised) to assist with questions and provide recommendations for area sightseeing.

    DAY 2

The day starts with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a thematic journey following the footsteps of the Templars. This carefully curated itinerary blends history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes for an unforgettable experience.

Meet your guide and head to Tomar, where you'll explore the historic Castle of the Knights Templar. Afterward, you will travel to Nazaré for a delicious lunch of local favorites. This will be followed by a leisurely walk along the scenic shoreline.

Your tour then continues to Sintra, where you will visit the enchanting Quinta da Regaleira, a 16th century Renaissance-style manor and UNESCO World Heritage site. This historic estate built by the millionaire António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro in collaboration with architect Luigi Manini, is well-known for its unique architecture including underground tunnels and initiation wells.

    DAY 3

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, followed by a scenic drive to Évora, where you'll enjoy views of the Cristo Rey statue. Évora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the capital of Portugal's Alentejo region. Explore the city on a guided tour before heading to a cooking studio for a hands-on experience making traditional Alentejan dishes, with lunch included.

Portugal's vast cork oak forests have fueled a thriving cork industry for centuries, leading to a wide range of cork products and a deeply rooted cultural tradition. After lunch, visit a cork production facility and learn about the process.

Next, you'll visit the Edward VII observation deck located within the Parque Eduardo VII, to capture vistas of the park itself, the imposing statue of the Marquis of Pombal, and the Avenida da Liberdade. You should also be able to see the south bank of the Tagus River and, on clear days, the hills of Arrábida.

The tour continues with a visit to Lisbon’s highest point and one of the most historic symbols of the city, the historic Fortress of St. George. Here you can explore its ancient walls and the “Gates of the Sun” observation deck.

    DAY 1

Upon arrival at Lisbon International Airport, you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.

A van will be used for bookings of two guests and a sedan for solo travelers.

The hotel check-in time is 3:00pm. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night to guarantee room availability upon arrival or you may choose to store luggage at Reception and begin to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.

One Palacio da Anunciada Hotel is located in the most exclusive area of the city, a few meters from Avenida da Liberdade and Praça dos Restauradores.

*If you are traveling with other guests (separate booking) who are on the same program and wish to share an airport transfer (same flight arrival only), please advise RSSC no later than 95 days before the program start date.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, check out and meet your guide for a journey to the enchanting walled town of Évora which is marked by Roman, Moorish, and Portuguese influences

Situated in the Alentejo region, this historic and architecturally rich town is home to a number of treasures. Cobbled streets tucked behind fortress walls, historic sights, and incredible dining make this UNESCO World Heritage Site (the city itself) a must-see.

During your tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Cathedral, or Sé, with its fortress-like appearance, as well as the Church of St Francis, which is one of the city's grandest churches after the Cathedral and well known for its blend of Gothic and Moorish styles and the Chapel of the Bones.

Marvel at the fourteen original granite Corinthian columns of the Roman Temple before exploring the Moorish arches and pretty alleyways in the town center. After having ample time on own to enjoy a lunch of local delicacies, a visit will be made to Évora University, the second oldest in the country and noted for its impressive architecture.

This evening, transfer to the Dark Sky Alqueva Observatory. Nestled in the heart of Alentejo, the Alqueva sky offers a breathtaking view, resembling a dark velvet canvas adorned with countless stars. As a certified Dark Sky® Reserve and "Starlight Tourism Destination," this protected area spans over 10,000 square kilometers.

Enjoy your visit to the official Dark Sky Observatory with a professional guide who will lead you through an unforgettable night sky tour. Using powerful telescopes, you will explore constellations, nebulae, star clusters, distant galaxies, planets, comets, binary systems, and colorful stars. The experience provides a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of the universe.

Note: The timing of the session varies based on sunset and daylight savings (start times between 7.30pm and 10.00pm).

    DAY 3

After breakfast, meet your guide. Nestled in the heart of Alentejo, experience the region’s deep-rooted connection to the land by visiting a traditional country estate.

Here, explore the property, interact with the animals and enjoy the scents and landscapes that define the area.

With a glass of local wine in hand, help gather fresh ingredients to prepare an authentic "alentejana" meal over an open fire, learning about local flavors, cheeses, and smoked meats along the way. This hands-on experience culminates in a shared meal, bonding over food, wine, and stories with your hosts.

Return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

Following breakfast, meet your guide and prepare to immerse yourself in nature during a leisurely trekking experience through the lush forest with the magnificent Serra D’Ossa hills as a backdrop. Get an in-depth look at its extraordinary biodiversity, considered one of the richest in Europe.

Apart from all the fauna and flora that live off the cork trees, do not be surprised to come across a wide variety of wildlife, including boar, mongoose, hares and many species of birds.

After the walking tour, discover the world of Herdade da Maroteira wines on a guided tour of the estate, where you will visit the winery and tasting room. Enjoy a tasting of Maroteira wines, accompanied by Iberian pork ham and cheese.

At the end of the morning, enjoy lunch in a typical Alentejo restaurant, with a traditional menu showcasing the foods of the region, accompanied by Alentejo wines of course!

After lunch, return to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

Note: The walking route of the working farm is easy and mostly flat, however and depending on weather, the path may be muddy as it follows farm tracks. The experience is not suitable for wheelchairs or mobility scooters. In case of heavy rain or for tour dates in August where the weather is extremely hot, 4x4 transportation throughout the farm will be provided. Guests should wear hiking boots or shoes that you do not mind getting dusty or muddy.

    DAY 4

Following breakfast at the hotel, settle any incidentals and check out before meeting your guide. Leaving Évora behind, you will return to Lisbon.

Lying north of the River Tagus estuary and stretching over seven hills, Portugal's capital city has much to offer.

Explore the Belem district and see the magnificent Jerónimos Monastery, an extraordinary example of Portugal's 'Manueline' style of architecture. Once populated by monks, the UNESCO-listed monastery was commissioned by King Manuel I to commemorate Vasco da Gama’s famous voyage to India in 1497.

Time permitting, see Torre de Belém (Belém Tower), one of Lisbon's most iconic buildings and symbolic of Portugal's great Age of Expansion.

Also enjoy a refreshment stop, where you may wish to sample the famous and scrumptious Pastéis de Belém (custard tarts). Afterwards, continue to the port of Lisbon for embarkation.
