Wildly Diverse West

In the west, you’ll see numerous glaciers, waterfalls, turquoise lakes and, of course, the stunning wildlife that is found in the Rocky Mountains. The view hasn’t changed much since the time railroads first crossed Canada in 1885; luckily the comforts have improved by leaps and bounds. Traveling by train aboard the Rocky Mountaineer is still one of the best and most relaxing ways to explore this massive and inspiring country.

When Seven Seas Explorer® begins her Alaska season next summer, she will sail the long stretch of sheltered ocean that follows the British Columbia coast all the way up to Alaska, known as the Inside Passage. This route is blessed with calm waters and is crisscrossed with straits, fjords and anchorages, as well as extraordinary marine life. As you sail to or from Vancouver, you may spot marine life, from humpback whales to dolphins to sea lions, from the comfort of your suite’s balcony.

Eternally Wonderful East

In the east, you can appreciate Canada’s thriving and diverse society by way of the French, British and indigenous traditions, plus many other influences that make up the larger Canadian culture. Sail the picturesque St. Lawrence River aboard Seven Seas Navigator® and soon you’ll arrive at the historic dual-language English-French cities of Québec and Montréal. While these cities are indelibly French in flavor, both have a very special charm that is quintessentially Canadian.

You’ll find a taste of Scotland in Nova Scotia, but a landscape unlike anywhere in the world. See stunning coasts, waterfalls and Scottish historical buildings as you explore Sydney and Halifax. Great seafood restaurants, local markets and hiking trails are aplenty when headed to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. And in Corner Brook, take in the dense forests, soaring mountains and glacial valleys, plus get a glimpse of the earth’s rocky mantle, at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gros Morne.
