Land Programs & Hotels

  • A delightful introduction to this vibrant and captivating city! Visit its major attractions including Sugar Loaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer Statue and the neo-futuristic building Museu do Amanhã or “(Tomorrow´s Museum”. The group will also visit a Samba Factory to learn about the process of creating and producing a parade for Rio’s famed Carnival.

    DAY 1

Upon flying into Rio's International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel which is located just steps from Copacabana Beach.

Check in is at 3:00pm. Although every effort will be made to have rooms available before this time, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night, so your room is available upon arrival at the hotel.

The remainder of the day is at your leisure, allowing you time to settle in. Meals are on your own today.

    DAY 2

Following a buffet breakfast at your hotel, meet your guide and take a drive downtown for an intriguing tour of Rio. You will see its beautiful buildings dating from colonial and Imperial days sharing space with the very modern architecture of the Brazilians Oscar Niemeyer, Afonso Reidy and many others. Adding to this group of masters, is the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava who designed the neo-futuristic building Museu do Amanhã, (Tomorrow´s Museum).

Your tour includes visits to the modern Catholic Cathedral, the ancient and gorgeous Saint Bento Monastery as well as The Tomorrow’s Museum. You will also see the Opera House, the Fine Arts Museum and the National Library.

Following your introductory tour of Rio de Janeiro, you will head back to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure for you to explore as you wish. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

    DAY 3

Enjoy another buffet breakfast at your hotel before driving to Praia Vermelha. Here, you’ll board a cable car for a ride to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. The 600-million-year-old granite and quartz mountain was named for its tall cone, supposedly because it resembles sugar that was shaped into a loaf for transport in the 19th century.

The cable-car ride is in two stages. The first takes you to Urca Hill, where there are lush, fragrant gardens and several scenic lookouts. If you wish to venture even higher, the second segment of the cable car ride will take you to the very top of Sugarloaf, which rises 1300 feet above sea level. From here, you will enjoy mesmerizing views of the city, Guanabara Bay, the ocean and smaller, densely vegetated mountains.

After descending Sugarloaf, you will drive through a number of pleasant residential areas and eventually stop for a typical Brazilian BBQ lunch.

Lunch is followed by a drive downtown for a unique backstage visit to a Samba School Pavilion. Here, you will learn about the process of creating and producing a parade for Rio’s famed Carnival. It will be especially fascinating to see how the lavish costumes and floats are made. If you wish, you can try on some of the costumes from last year’s Carnival for a photo.

Following this entertaining visit, board your vehicle for a drive through the Rebouças tunnel and return to the hotel by late afternoon. On arrival, you still have time to relax at the hotel. Dinner is on your own.

    DAY 4

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant before checking out and transferring to the port for embarkation. Along the way you will have the opportunity to ascend Rio’s most famous landmark, Christ the Redeemer Statue.

Departing the hotel, the drive will take you through Copacabana to the Cosme Velho district where you will board the cog railway for a 2.5 mile, 30 minute ride up to the viewing area. As you reach the upper terminus there are fantastic views in clear weather. Then, to reach the viewing platform and the 120-foot-high statue, you will take an elevator and an escalator.

Following your visit, proceed to the pier for embarkation.

Note: We recommend that you pack one light overnight bag per person for the next two days. Flight allowance is one checked bag per person maximum 15 kg/33lbs and one carry on per person maximum 5kg/11lbs. Any excess luggage will be collected at the port and stored at the hotel in Buenos Aires where you will receive it upon your return. Please have luggage separated prior to disembarking the ship.

The name Iguazú translates to Great Waters in Guarani. Standing 80 meters high and stretching three kilometers wide, the Iguazú Falls are located on the border between Argentina and Brazil and consist of numerous cascades that produce a large volume of water spray. This region includes the northeastern part of Argentina, which is home to more than 400 species of birds and features distinctive natural scenery making this one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Upon arrival, you will be met by your local guide and then transferred to Iguazú Falls National Park. A buffet lunch will be served at La Selva Restaurant shortly after your arrival.

Following lunch, guests are invited to participate in a motorized zodiac boat ride offering an opportunity to view the falls from water level and experience the invigorating spray and energy produced by this impressive cascade. Please be advised that participants will most likely get wet while aboard the zodiacs. During the excursion, your guide will provide informative commentary about the local trees, birds, waterfalls, and additional points of interest.

Please note: Participation in the zodiac excursion requires full mobility. Access to the boat involves ascending and descending approximately 100 steps and the loading area is not wheelchair accessible. Guests with reduced mobility will not be able to participate in this activity and may wait for the group above. Participation in the zodiac tour is optional, and guests who prefer to remain ashore are welcome to do so. Shaded areas and seating are available throughout the park for your comfort. For safety reasons, the operating staff reserve the final right to deny participation to any guest they deem not physically fit to safely complete the excursion. For a full list of restrictions that may deem the ride not suitable, please see https://iguazufalls.com/tours-and-activities/gran-aventura-activity and review the FAQ’s.

After the zodiac tour, check-in at your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax before dinner.

Dinner is included at the hotel. Your room is a Jungle View Room

    DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, please settle any incidental charges and check-out. Access to this impressive natural feature is provided by the Eco-Train, followed by a 1,200-metre walk along a footbridge leading to the designated viewing platforms.

The final portion of your visit includes a guided walk along one of the established circuits on the Argentine side of the National Park, featuring elevated catwalks and various observation points.

Depending on flight time, either return to the hotel for lunch or enjoy lunch in the park prior to transferring to the airport for a return flight to Buenos Aires.

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be met and transferred to your hotel where you will be reunited with any stored luggage. The remainder of the day is at your leisure with dinner on your own.

    DAY 3

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have the morning at leisure and lunch on own.

This afternoon, participate in a half-day sightseeing tour of Buenos Aires, showcasing the city’s most notable neighborhoods and attractions.

Key points of interest include the Main Square—Plaza de Mayo—bordered by significant landmarks such as the Casa Rosada (Presidential Headquarters), the Cabildo (Colonial Town Hall), and the Cathedral. The tour continues to Caminito in La Boca, renowned for its vibrant streets and distinctive multi-colored tin houses.

The itinerary proceeds through the sophisticated Barrio Norte en route to Recoleta Cemetery, an above-ground cemetery distinguished by its elaborate mausoleums and statues. The tour will also include Palermo, noted for its grand mansions and expansive parks.

In the late 19th century, Buenos Aires became a city shaped by European immigrants, whose children formed the first "porteños." Tango emerged as the voice of urban life, reflecting nostalgia and concerns about changing communities. This evening’s program offers an opportunity to appreciate the artistry of tango in its various forms, featuring distinguished dancers, vocalists, and a tango orchestra. Leaving from El Calafate drive to the south and reach panoramic points from which you will contemplate the immensity of the landscape.

After the zodiac tour, check-in at your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax before dinner. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Depending on flight time, either return to the hotel for lunch or enjoy lunch in the park prior to transferring to the airport for a return flight to Buenos Aires.

  • Discover Buenos Aires through authentic local experiences such as attending a traditional tango performance, exploring distinctive neighborhoods, and enjoying an Argentine asado featuring grilled meats at a country ranch.

    DAY 1

Following disembarkation, you will begin a half-day sightseeing tour of Buenos Aires, starting in the neighborhood La Boca, where you will view El Caminito, a street that is an open-air museum of sorts full of brightly colored buildings. Some claim the tango originated here around 1870, and tango dancers are often seen performing impromptu in the streets.

Continuing on, you will pass the city hall and Metropolitan Cathedral, which is adorned with frescoes and elaborate artwork. You will also see Casa Rosada, the executive mansion. President Juan Peron and his wife Eva, more affectionately known as Evita, delivered numerous speeches from the balcony.

Then, it’s on to the affluent La Recoleta neighborhood and the Recoleta Cemetery, the final resting place for Argentina’s wealthy and powerful. It holds thousands of grandiose mausoleums containing the remains of generals, sports figures and most famously Evita.

A refreshment at a traditional café follows where if you wish, you can enjoy the classic Porteño afternoon snack called “copetin”.

After touring the city, you will transfer to your hotel where the remainder of the day will be at your leisure. Lunch and dinner will be on your own.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will spend the day at a traditional estancia ranch in the countryside, a beautiful land that is home to the gaucho. The owners will be your hosts, and during your stay they will regale you with stories about the differences between modern country life and country life years ago.

Lunch will be a hearty asado of grilled meats with empanadas, accompanied by excellent Argentinean wines.

The entertainment will be just as outstanding. You will enjoy folk songs and dances, equestrian activities and an extraordinary demonstration of traditional gaucho skills, such as ring races and horse races and games.

Following your time at the estancia, you will return to the hotel to spend the evening. Dinner will be on your own.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will spend most of the daylight hours as you please. The hotel is centrally located in Buenos Aires, and there is plenty to enjoy nearby, including museums, shops and restaurants.

Your evening will be spent watching an authentic tango performance over dinner. Although the exact origin of the tango is unclear, there is no denying that the sultry dance is mesmerizing. The rhythmic music and mournful lyrics are just as alluring, as they often tell a story of lust, betrayal and loneliness. You don’t have to speak the language to feel the passion of tango.

After the tango performance, you will return to the hotel for the evening.

    DAY 4

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out (by 12nn) and transferring to the Ezeiza International Airport for your flight home. Transfers will be set up based on the flight details provided. Should you have a late flight, luggage storage is available at the hotel.
