  • Spend two nights at the stunning Lion Sands River Lodge which is located in the private Lion Sands Reserve. This private sanctuary is the only one with a footprint in both Sabi Sands Game Reserve and Kruger National Park. Enjoy an up-close unobstructed view of Africa’s most iconic animals on multiple game drives into the bush. Home to the highest and most diverse concentration of wildlife in the southern hemisphere, you can see all of Africa’s iconic species here, including all of the Big Five, along with a supporting cast of no less intriguing 137 mammal species and over 450 varieties of birds.

Note: This program begins in Johannesburg therefore arrival flights must be booked to Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport. Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour. Program details and the number of game drives are subject to change depending on final flight details.

    DAY 1 – June 7, 2026

Upon arrival at Johannesburg’s O.R Tambo International Airport, you will be met and assisted through passport control and baggage claim. You will then be escorted your hotel where you will spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Your hotel is located within walking distance of the terminal.

Check in time at your hotel is at 2:00pm. Although every effort will be made to have rooms available sooner, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night so that your room is available upon arrival.

Meals are on your own today.

    DAY 2 - June 8, 2026

After breakfast and check-out, meet our local representative in the lobby and walk back to the O.R. Tambo Airport for a flight to Skukuza. The flight is not accompanied.

As guests may only bring one piece of checked luggage per person, excess luggage (1 piece per person) will be shipped via courier to Cape Town where you will be re-united with it on Day 4 at your hotel. Make sure to pack accordingly and bring any medications and cruise documents with you.

Upon arrival at the Skukuza Airport, you will be met and transferred by road to your lodge. On arrival at River Lodge, and time permitting, enjoy lunch followed by check-in formalities.

Lion Sands River Lodge offers you one of the warmest welcomes you could hope to encounter on your travels; hosted by their family of extraordinary, handpicked staff, who will make you feel completely relaxed and at home. At River Lodge, feel the spirit of the Sabie River, where the quiet luxury of your room will provide a place of repose, after a day of overwhelming and enriching adventure.

Views of the Sabie River cannot be wasted, which is why each of the luxuriously thatched bedrooms at River Lodge has its own private wooden viewing deck. With the quietly rambling river outside your room, you won't have to go far to see wildlife or to drink in the surrounding Sabi Sand Reserve whilst overlooking the world- famous Kruger National Park, all at one glance.

Later in the day, gather at the main lodge for afternoon tea prior to embarking on a sunset game drive. Relish the sights and sounds of the bush as you head out in open safari vehicles. Led by FGASA-accredited field guides, you can hope to see the Big Five and more on our private reserve with exclusive traversing rights and non-migratory wildlife for all year-round viewing. Lion Sands is renowned for leopards, African wild dogs, and incredible lion pride activity.

Return to the lodge for dinner after what will surely be an amazing game drive.

NOTE: Activities and meals are subject to your flight time today

    DAY 3 – June 9, 2026

Depart on an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. The remainder of the morning will be at leisure followed by lunch. During your free time you can catch up on some sleep or alternatively you may wish to liaise with your ranger or lodge management regarding a bush walk. You can spend your time around the pool, perhaps indulge in a spa treatment (not included in cost) and try to spot animals from the safari deck.

After high tea, you will depart on another afternoon game drive in open 4x4 vehicles with a qualified ranger. Dinner at the lodge will follow.

    DAY 4 – June 10, 2026

Depending on flight time, you might enjoy one last morning game drive followed by breakfast, check out and transfer by road to the Skukuza Airport for your onward flight to Cape Town.

On arrival in Cape Town, you will be met and assisted with a transfer to your hotel which is located a short walk (approximately 12 minutes) from the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. This area is home to numerous shops, restaurants and plenty of entertainment. The hotel also has a free city shuttle that runs on a schedule.

At the hotel, collect any excess luggage that was transferred from Johannesburg and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

The hotel concierge will be able to make suggestions for local dining venues.

Lunch and dinner are on your own today.

NOTE: Activities and meals at the lodge are subject to your flight time today.

    Expected Weather:

South Africa’s seasons are the reverse of those in the northern hemisphere. Midwinter is June and midsummer is December and January. The climate varies from region to region but is generally mild throughout the year. Expect it to be warm during the day and much cooler in the evenings.

The average temperature in Kruger National Park in June for a typical day ranges from a high of 81°F (27°C) to a low of 54°F (12°C). Some would describe the temperature to be pleasantly warm.

    What to Bring:

Safari trousers and warm fleece tops for evenings and cooler days. Also, bring swimwear, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, camera, film and chargers, personal toiletries and anti-malaria medication.

    Currency:

The monetary unit of South Africa is the Rand. All major credit cards are accepted at most establishments, although Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted cards.

    Electricity:

South Africa’s electrical system is 220/230 volts A/C 50 cycles. We suggest you bring your own travel adaptors if you are bringing electronic devices as converters are not always available.

    Luggage:

•On all flights, guests are permitted to check-in one piece of luggage at a maximum of 20 kg (44 lbs.) and maximum dimension of 158 cm (62 inches).

•Passengers are permitted to travel with one piece of hand luggage not exceeding 7 kg (15 lbs.) and a dimension of 56 cm (22 inches) length, 36 cm (14 inches) width and 23 cm (9 inches) height. If the hand luggage does not conform to the size specified, passengers may be denied entry into the departure area or sent back to the check-in counter.

•Excess luggage (1 piece per person) will be shipped by courier from Johannesburg to your hotel in Cape Town. This service is included in the cost of the program.

•Alternatively, you may wish to contact Luggage Forward to make your own luggage transfer arrangements (at own cost) from your home to the ship - Phone: 877-231-5131

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

    1. Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry this equipment with them on their flights.

    2. The certificate should have attached a picture of the equipment with its description/specifications especially with regards to the type of batteries used (lithium/dry or any other type)

    3. These documents need to be sent to the Land Program Team via Reservations at RSSC at least one month prior to travel so that our local operator can begin the notification process with the airline(s).

    4. Failure to comply with the above regulations may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator be responsible for.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:

This program takes place within South Africa.

Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after travel and must have at least 2 blank pages per entry into South Africa. No Visa is needed for citizens of the USA in order to enter South Africa. Other nationalities should please consult their local embassies for any requirements.

Please note visa fees and regulations are subject to change at any time. Please consult your local embassy before travelling to know whether you require a Visa or not. Visa fees are not included in the cost of this program.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

    DAY 1

Upon arrival at Johannesburg’s O.R Tambo International Airport, you will be met and assisted through passport control and baggage claim. You will then be escorted your hotel where you will spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Your hotel is located within walking distance of the terminal.

Check in time at your hotel is at 2:00pm. Although every effort will be made to have rooms available sooner, this cannot be guaranteed. Should you have an early arriving flight you may wish to book an extra night so that your room is available upon arrival.

Meals are on your own today.

    DAY 2

After breakfast and check-out, meet our local representative in the lobby and walk back to the O.R. Tambo Airport for a flight to Kasane, Botswana. The flight is not accompanied.

As guests may only bring one piece of checked luggage per person, excess luggage (1 piece per person, 20kg/44 lbs.) will be shipped via courier to Cape Town where you will be re-united with it on Day 5. Make sure to pack accordingly and bring any medications and cruise documents with you.

Upon arriving in Kasane, proceed through Customs and Immigration and then another local representative will assist with your transfer to Chobe Game Lodge. Your lodge is located adjacent to the Chobe National Park.

Chobe Game Lodge is a haven of peace and tranquillity inside the Chobe National Park. A quiet spot on one of the many expansive viewing decks, the private jetty or comfortable lounge on the boardwalk is never far away. Each offers a different perspective on the unique wilderness that surrounds the lodge. Every one of the 44 elegantly designed guest rooms is air-conditioned, with en-suite bathrooms and a large terrace facing the Chobe River.

If time allows, enjoy lunch and then some free time to get acquainted with your surroundings.

A bit later in the day, gather in the main lodge for tea and snacks followed by a game drive in Chobe National Park. Safaris are conducted in 4x4 open side vehicles and led by qualified professional guides who will bring you close to hippos, buffalos, puku and other animals that gather on the banks of the Chobe River. Naturally, elephants, lion and leopard are also found in the area.

Return to your lodge thereafter for dinner and overnight.

    DAY 3

After an early-morning wake-up call and coffee or tea in the lobby, embark on a morning game drive in 4x4 open-air safari vehicles.

Along with elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, Chobe is also home to two antelope that aren’t encountered anywhere else in Botswana, the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. Declared a national park in 1967, Chobe was the first one established in Botswana and now covers more than 4,500 square miles of dry savannah, floodplains, and teak woodlands that are ideal animal habitats.

Returning from your morning safari, a full breakfast will be served after which you will have free time to do as you wish at the lodge.

Following lunch, enjoy a sunset 4x4 safari into the bush and then return to the lodge for dinner.

    DAY 4

After enjoying one last optional game drive and breakfast, check-out from the lodge and transfer cross the border between Botswana and Zimbabwe by road en-route to Victoria. The drive is approximately 1- 1.5 hours depending on border time.

•Travellers to Zimbabwe must now complete arrival forms online before departure as paper forms are no longer used.

•Visitors from visa-exempt and visa-required countries can submit their declarations online prior to travel.

•Travellers are advised to complete any forms and purchase their arrival visa in advance at https://evisa.gov.zw

•The listed website provides further details as well as costs

On arrival at the Victoria Falls Hotel, check in and enjoy lunch.

Later in the afternoon, transfer to the Zambezi River and embark on a sunset cruise (shared departure). Depending on the size of the group the boat may either be a covered single level sightseeing boat or a larger boat with multiple levels. Enjoy a beverage from this vantage point whilst watching the sunset and possibly sighting hippos, crocodiles, various birdlife and maybe even an elephant or two along the banks of the river.

Your boat cruise is followed up with dinner back at the hotel.

    DAY 5

After breakfast and check out, transfer to the Victoria Falls Rainforest where you will have a guided walk.

Located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is the world’s largest curtain of falling water, based on the falls’ one-mile width and height of 360 feet. It’s an amazing spectacle to watch as the Zambezi River roars over the edge of a basalt gorge, forming what locals call Mosi-Oa-Tunya or “the smoke that thunders”. In November 1885, after seeing the falls for the first time, Scottish explorer and Doctor David Livingstone re-named them after Queen Victoria.

A path along the edge of the rainforest provides visitors with an unparalleled series of views of the falls but be prepared to get wet from the tremendous spray!

NOTE: The cobblestone walkways within the rainforest can be slippery if wet and some spots are at a gradient. Proper walking shoes that have a good grip should be worn, and guests should wear appropriate clothing to get wet. Due to the amount of walking and terrain, this program is not suited for guests who have walking difficulty or who utilize a wheelchair or scooter. Walking distance will be 2-4km (1.24 – 2.48 miles).

Your program here concludes with a transfer to the Victoria Falls Airport where you will take a flight to Cape Town.

In Cape Town you will be met and transferred to your hotel which is located within the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where you will find a wide array of shopping and dining options. Lunch and dinner are on your own today.

Guests will be reunited with any excess luggage that was stored in Johannesburg and shipped to Cape Town.

NOTE: Activities and meals on this day are subject to your flight time

    DAY 6

After breakfast and check-out is completed, you will be transferred to the Cape Town Harbor, where you will embark the ship. Enjoy a panoramic city tour enroute.

*The contents and order of the activities in this program are subject to change by the lodge management without prior notice, due to the prevailing weather conditions and movement of dangerous wildlife in the Chobe National Park.

*The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines, and certain parts of the game drive can be bumpy. This program is not recommended for guests with back problems.

*Bring warm clothing, as the evenings and early mornings are chilly.

*The water levels at Victoria Falls are season dependent. ‘Low Water’ runs between August and January and is at its lowest between November and early December. This is the time when there is very little spray and visitors are able to fully appreciate the geological formation of Victoria Falls and the full length and breadth of them.

    Expected Weather:

South Africa’s seasons are the reverse of those in the northern hemisphere. During June, in South Africa, you will experience mild winter weather, with average daytime temperatures around 18°C (64°F) and cooler nights, with an average low of around 7°C (45°F).

Botswana experiences its mid-winter season with average temperatures ranging from a low of 6°C (43°F) to a high of 25°C (77°F).

Zimbabwe experiences the beginning of its dry season with pleasant daytime temperatures and cooler nighttime temperatures, averaging around 25°C (77°F) during the day and dropping to around 15°C (59°F) at night

The monetary unit of South Africa is the Rand. All major credit cards are accepted at most establishments, although Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted cards.

In Zimbabwe, the unit of currency is the US Dollar

Credit card payments in Zimbabwe are subject to change on a daily basis. Currently, as only Visa cards are widely accepted here so we recommend that you travel with a small amount of US Dollars or SA Rand in cash, in small denominations, to pay for incidental expenses.

    Expected Weather:

South Africa’s seasons are the reverse of those in the northern hemisphere. Midwinter is June and midsummer is December and January. The climate varies from region to region but is generally mild throughout the year.

In the Eastern Cape, you can expect the average maximum daytime temperature in November to be around 24.3°C (75.74°F). The average minimum temperature goes down to around 14.2°C (57.56°F).

    What to Bring:

Light cotton tops and cotton trousers and shorts in summer. Safari trousers and warm fleece tops for evenings and cooler days. Also, bring swimwear, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, camera, film and chargers, personal toiletries.

    Currency:

The monetary unit of South Africa is the Rand, divided into cents and abbreviated as R and c. All major credit cards are accepted at most establishments, although Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted cards.

    Electricity:

South Africa’s electrical system is 220/230 volts A/C 50 cycles. Most hotels have hair dryers and plug adaptors in the bedrooms however we suggest you bring your own travel adaptors if you are bringing electronic devices.

    Luggage:

On the flights from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth and vice versa, guests are permitted to check-in 1 piece of luggage at a maximum of 23 kg (50 lbs.) and maximum dimension of 158 cm (62 inches).

Excess luggage (up to 2 pieces of luggage per person) will be stored in Cape Town for the duration of the program and then transferred to the port for embarkation. Please pack accordingly for this and limit the luggage you take on the safari to 1 piece per person.

Overweight or excess bags not stored and brought on the safari will be at the expense of the guest.

Passengers are permitted to travel with one piece of hand luggage not exceeding 8 kg (18 lbs.) and a dimension of 56 cm (22 inches) length, 36 cm (14 inches) width and 23 cm (9 inches) height. If the hand luggage does not conform to the size specified, passengers may be denied entry into the departure area or sent back to the check-in counter.

Carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines on internal flights per airline regulations (subject to change as each airline has their own regulations)

1.Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) - Guests must obtain a Doctor’s Certificate mentioning their medical condition and the need to carry a POC. Further paperwork may be required by the airline. Please advise RSSC of the specifics at least 14 days before sailing.

2.CPAP Machine NOT being used in flight – please advise RSSC at least 95 days before the program starts if you will bring a CPAP on the internal flight(s) used in this land program. Please supply the make, model and battery type.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Failure to provide the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. Many hotels will charge for distilled water. If there is a fee, this will be added to your hotel incidental account to be paid at check-out. Fees will vary from hotel to hotel.

    Documents and Visa Requirements:

South African Immigrations requires that you have at least two consecutive double-blank pages in your passport, or entry to the country may be denied. Passports should also be valid for more than 6 months at the time of travel. Please consult your local embassy for all visa requirements pertaining to South Africa and your nationality.

The above information is subject to change and serves as a guide only. We would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our guests that it is the ultimate and sole responsibility of the guest to ensure they meet the entry requirements for each destination.

VERY IMPORTANT – The name on your cruise booking, passport and any visas if required, must all be exactly the same for flight ticket purchase otherwise guests may be denied travel by flight. Please ensure that all documents are identical in spelling to the names provided for your cruise reservation including first, middle and last name. Manifests generated by the cruise line must match your travel documents.

Failure to have the required documents ahead of time or incorrect names on flight tickets will result in either denial of travel or ticket re-purchase and guests will be responsible for any fees incurred.
