  • OVERLAND -ANCIENT CAPITAL OF THAILAND (AK) CODE: SINLB3

Explore ancient cities, including two UNESCO World Heritage sites, that shed light on the centuries when Thailand first flourished and enjoy experiential adventures such as cruising on a rice barge.

    DAY 1 – 15. April 2025

After disembarking the cruise ship in Singapore, you will be met by a representative at the gangway and board a coach for the 45-minute drive to the Singapore airport. You will then fly to Bangkok.

On arrival in Bangkok, you will accompany your guide to discover old Siam in the former capital of Ayutthaya.

Strategically positioned on an island between three rivers, the city of Ayutthaya rose to prosperity during the 14th to 18th centuries when the Siamese kingdom flourished through trade between the East and West. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, the former capital city contains several significant archaeological treasures, including the remains of Buddhist monasteries, temples and palaces.

You will visit Wat Phanan Cheoeng, one of the city’s oldest temples, which features a large Buddha statue. Behind the temple is a small 18th-century shrine built to honor a Chinese princess with a tragic story.

Following this visit, you will transfer to the Kantary Ayutthaya hotel or a similar hotel, where you will

enjoy a welcome dinner and spend the evening.

    DAY 2 – 16. April 2025

You will then transfer to the pier for a cruise on a traditional rice barge. The experience will provide an excellent perspective to watch local life unfold as the barge passes through the beautiful countryside.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will explore Sukhothai's UNESCO World Heritage site Historical Park, which marks the Golden Age of Thai civilization. The ruins date back to the 13th and 14th centuries and are located among tranquil lakes, gardens and ponds dotted with lotus flowers.

Upon arrival, you will ride in a bicycle while exploring and immersing yourself in the site's history. A home-cooked picnic lunch will be served along the way. Time permitting, you will also visit a local ceramics factory before returning to the hotel.

Later that night, you will enjoy a farewell dinner that features a selection of classic Thai dishes. The meal will be accompanied by a traditional Thai dance performance that celebrates centuries of Sukhothai culture and heritage.

Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, proceed to your hotel. Nestled on the peaceful Ping River, Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is a chic contemporary resort built around a 100-year-old heritage house which once belonged to the British Consulate. The rooms and suites are housed in a sleek, modern building decorated in a simple yet sophisticated style with elements of Thai design. After lunch, travel to the Golden Triangle for a scenic boat ride to a viewpoint overlooking the Mekong River. Here you will see the spot where three countries meet - Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar.

Nearby, visit the Hall of Opium which offers an interesting insight into the history of the opium trade which once affected many hill tribe villagers in this area. Learn about the impacts of the poppy as well as the steps made to help the Golden Triangle community in more recent times.

Continue to your hotel. Immerse in Thai culinary culture, learning about the key ingredients and how they are used and stored, as well as alternatives you can substitute when you are at home. Head to the kitchen to prepare a selection of authentic regional dishes which you can later savor for lunch.

In the afternoon, enjoy a rare opportunity to walk side-by-side with elephants through natural forests and grasslands. Accompany the elephants on their daily walk in the jungle and watch them roam freely in their natural habitat. See how the gentle giants splash in the river, play in the mud or snack on jungle leaves.

Celebrate the artistic heritage of the old Lanna kingdom with a farewell dinner in the rice field. Savor a traditional khantoke meal where a selection of classic northern Thai dishes is served on a tray, such as pork curry, green chili dip and other local favorites. • OVERLAND - ANGKOR WAT WONDERS CODE: SINL01

Experience the best of vibrant Phnom Penh by visiting museums and the royal palace before flying to Angkor Wat for a comprehensive tour of its massive, 12th-century temple complex and Angkor Thom, the last Khmer capital.

Hinweis: Guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    TAG 1: Tuesday 19. März 2024

Disembark from the ship in Singapore with your luggage and then proceed with immigration clearance and security check. Our representative will meet you by the Cruise Centre Arrival Hall and assist you in transferring to the Changi Airport for the flight to Phnom Penh.

Included in the program is a fast track and express Cambodia visa service upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport. Guests must complete all forms (Visa on Arrival, Arrival/Departure card and Passenger Declaration forms), which will be distributed on board the aircraft or will be available in the arrivals hall at the airport. An airport representative will welcome guests as they enter the arrivals hall. The representative will collect each guest’s passport and a passport-size photo and proceed to process the visa. Please make sure to bring a passport sized photo in your carryon bag.

The group will fast track through immigration and collect luggage while the visas are being processed, then proceed to meet your guide and driver, who will be waiting outside the terminal in the main meet-and-greet area. Our airport representative will return the passports once the visas are processed.

Transfer to the historical Raffles Hotel Le Royal, where you will stay in a Colonial Suite. This luxurious hotel opened in 1929 and is renowned for its extraordinary service and amenities. You will have time to freshen up before the evening’s foodie experience: an Urban Forage Market and BBQ tour that combines exotic street food and lively nightlife.

You will travel from place to place by tuk tuk. Accompanied by a local guide, you will explore a market, interact with vendors and sample the very best Cambodian street food. A traditional dinner will then be served at a nearby restaurant with live music from the 1960s. If time permits, you will stop elsewhere for dessert before returning to the hotel. Should you choose, you may wish to continue on your own to one of Phnom Penh’s trendy late-night spots.

    TAG 2: Wednesday 20. März 2024

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum, a former high school that became a notorious prison and torture chamber during the Pol Pot regime. After being interrogated, prisoners were often transferred to the infamous Killing Fields to be executed. Browsing the museum is a sobering experience.

You will then visit the Royal Palace, which was built in 1866 by King Norodom. The palace consists of a number of structures within a pagoda-style compound. The Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5.000 silver tiles. Its treasures include a solid-gold Buddha encrusted with thousands of diamonds and a small 17th-century emerald and Baccarat crystal Buddha.

Continuing on, you will next browse the National Museum. It houses an abundance of Khmer art that includes sculptures from different periods of Cambodian history, 19th-century dance costumes and royal barges.

Lunch follows, after which you will return to the hotel for check-out and then transfer to the Phnom Penh airport for the flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will check into a Junior Suite at the elegant Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort. Ideally located just 10 minutes from Angkor Wat, the French Colonial-influenced hotel couldn’t be more luxurious.

After settling in and freshening up, you will depart for dinner at the Chanrey Tree restaurant. Afterwards, you will watch Phare, The Cambodian Circus, a highly entertaining show featuring circus-like performers that relate uniquely Cambodian stories and experiences. The show’s dancers, singers, musicians and acrobats put on an incredibly enthusiastic, high-energy performance that you will not soon forget.

    Tag 3: Donnerstag, 21. März 2024

The day begins early at Angkor Wat, where you will watch a magnificent sunrise over the enormous Buddhist temple complex, which was built in the 12th century as a Hindu temple. It is considered the world’s largest religious monument.

After sunrise, you will enjoy a traditional Khmer breakfast at Sala Kdei, a beautiful traditional wooden house overlooking the royal bathing pool of Sras Srang.

You will then return to Angkor Wat by entering through the serene east gate, which reveals that Angkor Wat is oriented to east unlike every other Cambodian temple, which is oriented to the west. Angkor Wat was conceived by Suryavarman II and took 30 years to build. It supposedly contains an amount of stone that is equal to that used to construct the Egyptian pyramid of Cheops. Be sure to notice the intricate bas-reliefs on all sides of the temple, as each one tells a different story.

You will also have the opportunity to receive a personal blessing from a monk at the temple. This traditional Khmer ceremony involves a sprinkling of water and lotus flowers to cleanse you of bad spirits and bring good luck for the coming year. Chances are, you will feel renewed and relaxed after the ceremony.

Hinweis: to enter the sacred Bakan tower at Angkor Wat, visitors must wear proper attire that covers the shoulders and knees. Shorts, miniskirts or short trousers are not allowed. Children under 12 years old may not climb the tower.

Following your time at Angkor Wat, you will return to the hotel for lunch before continuing on to Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmers. Your exploration begins at the Terrace of the Leper King. This intricately carved platform was the royal crematorium and the statue that was originally thought to be the leper king is now believed to be Yama, the god of death.

You will continue along the Terrace of Elephants, a viewing gallery where the king once presided over parades, performances and sporting events. You will also view the grand temple of The Bayon, a 12th-century archaeological wonder at the very center of Angkor Thom. Its exterior gallery walls are covered with bas-reliefs and adorned with hundreds of enigmatic half-smiling faces.

Another highlight is the 12th-century Ta Prohm, the only temple that wasn’t fully cleared of jungle vegetation after French explorers found it in the late 1880s. Giant silk-cotton trees and strangler figs grow in and atop the temple’s stone ruins, making for a dramatic setting.

Before returning to Siem Reap, you will stop at the Apopo, a fascinating research center. There, a special breed of rat with an extraordinary sense of smell is trained to detect landmines so they can be safely removed from rural areas after the military conflicts in the area have ended. The rats don’t weigh enough to set off the landmines and are never in harm’s way. This behind-the-scenes experience will give you the opportunity to observe the rats clearing a mock mine field and talk with their trainers.

The highly valued rats are well treated. They enjoy spacious, cool lodgings, are fed plenty of fresh fruit and never work for longer than a few hours a day. The even have sunscreen carefully applied to their ears and tails to protect their skin while on duty. The rats typically retire after four years of service.

In time, you will return to the hotel to freshen up before the evening’s culinary immersion, which offers a taste of Khmer fusion cuisine at three different restaurants. An English-speaking tuk tuk driver will take you from one venue to the other over a period of about three hours. You can expect to enjoy a starter and welcome drink at the first restaurant, a main course and drink at the second, and a dessert and drink at the third venue.

    Tag 4: Friday 22. März 2024

  • OVERLAND-KMHER KALEIDOSCOPE & ANGKOR WAT CODE: SINLA9

This incredible journey invites guests to reflect on the past as they experience the present opportunities and beauty of today. Begin with a visit to the sobering Tuol Sleng Museum in Phnom Penh, a sobering reminder of the brutal tragedy brought about by the temporary rule of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. Regroup in the Russian Market to experience the present resilience and beauty of the local culture. Take in the traditional design of The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, built upon the site of the Banteay Kev, a citadel built in 1813. Finally, visit the wondrous Angkor Wat for an unforgettable experience.

    DAY 1 – 15. April 2025

Disembark the ship in Singapore and transfer by coach to the airport for a flight to Phnom Penh.

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh you will be met and assisted with obtaining a Cambodian Entry Visa. Once this has been issued, proceed to your hotel for check-in. Dinner is included at the hotel.

    Day 2 – 16. April 2025

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before setting out. This morning visit Tuol Sleng Museum, originally a local high school which was taken over in 1975 by the Khmer Rouge and converted into “Security Prison 21” (S - 21). During the three years of Khmer Rouge brutality the prison became synonymous with terror. Today the prison has reopened as a museum and offers a grim reminder of the excesses of the Khmer Rouge.

After you have had time to absorb the tragic events, your guide will return you to hotel via a Russian Market to lighten your spirits as you browse the various goods on offer, re-assured that despite the country’s dark history, the good people of Cambodia have persevered.

Named thanks to its popularity with visitors from the former USSR in the 1980s, the Russian Market is probably the city's best source of objects d'art and craft items.

Your guide will lead you around the market and be on hand to explain some of the more curious items for sale, including wooden and stone carvings, various ritual objects, silverware, and old Indochinese notes and coins.

Thirty minutes outside of Phnom Penh to the somber 'Killing Fields' of the Khmer Rouge and the mass graves that tells the dark story of Cambodia’s disturbing past.

After lunch at a local restaurant you will visit The Royal Palace. This structure was constructed earlier this century on the site of the Banteay Kev, a citadel built in 1813. Keen-eyed travelers may spot the design is strongly influenced by The Royal Palace in Bangkok.

Together with your guide, venture inside the Palace's Silver Pagoda and its surrounding compound (the only section open to visitors). The Silver Pagoda, also known as Wat Preah Keo, was given its name because of over 5.000 silver tiles (weighing 1kg each) that cover the floor.

Continue your exploration of Phnom Penh at the National Museum of Khmer Art and Archaeology, otherwise known as 'Musée des Beaux-Arts' or 'Musée Albert Sarraut'. This museum is considered to be one of the finest museums of classical Cambodian art.

This evening enjoy dinner at Malis or similar before returning to your hotel.

    DAY 3 – 17. April 2025

After breakfast and checking out, transfer to the Phnom Penh International Airport for a flight to Siem Reap.

On arrival in Siem Reap you will be met and taken to the Angkor Site to collect your temple passes which are required for touring. Once these have been issued, transfer to your hotel for check-in and a light lunch.

After lunch, venture to the Angkor Wat Temple Complex. You will have approximately 2 hours to explore its archaeological treasures with your guide before returning to your hotel.

Your guide will point out the best spots for taking photos of this massive temple complex as you walk amidst the moss-peppered cobbled pathways, gaze up at the intricately carved tower tops and perhaps climb the steep and narrow temple steps that lead to wide courtyards. Lose yourself in contemplation as you catch the rays of the sun dancing off the bas relief carvings, the chatter of monkeys reverberating off the temple walls.

This evening, enjoy a magical dining experience amid ancient Angkor with rare access to the grounds of a historical temple at night. You are transported to the temple venue, approximately 10 kilometers (six miles) from downtown Siem Reap, where you are greeted by the sound of Khmer drums. Follow the torchlit path into the dining venue and enjoy dinner and drinks accompanied by traditional dance and music.

    Day 4 – 18. April 2025

After an early breakfast, check out and transfer to the Siem Reap Airport for a flight to Bangkok.

Upon arrival into Bangkok you will be met and taken to the port where you will re-board the ship.

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will collect your luggage and proceed through customs and immigration where your Cambodian visa will be issued (one recent passport sized photo is required along with your passport).

Your driver will meet you at Arrival Terminal’s exit gate with a welcome sign. You will then transfer to Shinta Mani Wild for check in.

Situated on more than 800 acres in a vast river valley on the border of the Cardamom National Forest, Shinta Mani Wild is an extraordinary, environmentally friendly resort dedicated to fulfilling each guest’s sense of adventure. You will stay in one of 15 luxury private tents along the riverbank.

Your jungle adventure begins from the moment you arrive! You will climb Eastern Tower’s 102 steps, don zip line equipment, clip into a double cable for extra safety, and after a safety briefing, fly… at upwards of 50 kmph for 400 meters, over the Butterfly tent and the first crossing of the Tmor Rung River to land at the West Tower.

    FOREST FORAGING

Discover and taste Cambodia’s natural larder in the company of our camp sous chef and expert forager Bong Van Det. Chef Van Det will be grateful for your help in filling his basket with delicacies for the foraged tasting dinner that follows. (1-2 hours)

    MOUNTAINBIKING

There are mountain biking opportunities for riders of all skill levels. Looking for a virgin run on a forest single track or perhaps a less arduous ride through a Khmer village? Or maybe a drive from camp to the Kirirom Reservoir for a challenging uphill ride and an exhilarating downhill sprint is more your speed. (1-4 hours)

    KAYAKING

The Cardamom rainforest has some of the highest annual rainfall in Southeast Asia, which creates a massive system of rivers and estuaries that are ideal for flat-water kayaking. The best opportunities for bird watching are along these barely used water routes, where the rare encounter with a fisherman will be a surprise and a delight. (2.5 hours)

    A WILD PHOTO SHOOT

Our adventure butlers will show you some of our favorite photo and video locations, where you might sip a glass of champagne under a waterfall, race downhill on a zipline, drive a Jeep through the forest or hang out with a wildlife alliance ranger. You can become the stars and let us take the photos for you to share on social media.

    EXPEDITION BOAT

Our luxury, custom-built expedition boats are perfect for exploring the backwaters of the upper Srey Ambel Estuary and the connecting waterways. Early risers will enjoy a sunrise breakfast on board or on a secluded beach. If you prefer a later expedition, you can opt for a sunset cruise. If you are feeling particularly adventurous, you can ride a bicycle through the jungle to and from the expedition boat.

    WILDLIFE ALLIANCE RANGERS ANTI-POACHING PATROL

If you share our passion for protecting the environment, feel free to join the Wildlife Alliance rangers and motorcycle through the forest on an anti-poaching patrol. Funded by Shinta Mani Wild, the camp’s ranger station enables the non-profit Wildlife Alliance to carry out vital conservation work, including protecting animals from poaching, removing snares, protecting the national park from encroachment and preventing illegal logging. (2-5 hours)

    WILD COCKTAILS

Have you ever wanted to learn the best way to build, stir, muddle or shake up a cocktail? If so, our mixologist Bong Ae will show you the fine art of perfecting classic cocktails such as a Negroni. Or create your own cocktail and infuse it with whatever flavors you wish.

    WELLNESS

Indulge in pampering treatments at Khmer Tonics, our spa nestled amid giant rocks in the forest. As an alternate to the spa treatment rooms, you may enjoy a river-stone foot massage while soaking in a waterfall pool or indulge in a treatment on the balcony of your private tent with the river rushing below. All treatments are complimentary.
