Located along North Africa's Atlantic coastline in the shadow of the Atlas Mountains, Agadir was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1961 demolished most of the historic Portuguese, Arab and French colonial structures. Modern Agadir is a posh, upscale resort offering delicious sun-drenched days and activities from tennis, horseback riding and golf to stretching out on a golden sand beach. Visitors looking for a memento can bargain in the colorful souks. Dining options range from traditional Moroccan dishes to French and International cuisine. Excursions can take you to ageless Berber villages, or you can indulge the senses in the scenic Souss Valley and the High Atlas.

OVERLAND - CHARMS OF MARRAKECH CODE: AGAL02
Experience Morocco at its most captivating on this immersive overnight journey from Agadir to Casablanca. From the palaces, souks, and World Heritage sites to a camel ride through peaceful palm groves and the grandeur of Casablanca’s Hassan II Mosque, this program blends culture, cuisine, and timeless Moroccan charm into two unforgettable days ashore.
Special Notes:
•This program involves walking distances at times over even and uneven grounds. It is not recommended for guests who require use of wheelchair, walker or cane. The visit of the old city in Marrakech is done only on foot and requires walking a long-distance.
•Please advise the RSSC Reservations team when you book this program should you have any special dietary restrictions or requirements. Requests will be sent to our local ground operators for review.
DAY 1
Disembark in Agadir, meet your guide and settle in for the three-hour journey to Marrakech.
In Marrakech, begin with a visit to the Koutoubia Mosque, admired for its majestic 12th-century minaret — the tallest structure in the city and one of the finest examples of Almohad architecture. Its design later inspired the Giralda in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat.
Continue to the Bahia Palace, a magnificent 19th-century residence built for Grand Vizier Si Moussa and later expanded by his son Ba Ahmed. The palace’s name, meaning “Brilliance,” reflects its exquisite craftsmanship, with intricate stucco work, carved cedar ceilings, marble courtyards, and serene Andalusian gardens. Once intended to be the most beautiful palace of its time, it remains a remarkable testament to Moroccan artistry and refinement.
Next, visit the elegant Dar El Bacha Museum, a former palace of the powerful Pasha of Marrakech. Today, it showcases the refined art of Moroccan craftsmanship, with beautifully restored salons, zellige tilework, carved wood, and decorative stucco, offering insight into the city’s political and cultural history in the early 20th century.
In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the bustling Medina and traditional souks, where artisans continue centuries-old traditions in metalwork, leather, textiles, and spices. This vibrant maze of colors, sounds, and scents offers an authentic glimpse into daily Moroccan life.
Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch at the renowned Dar Essalam Restaurant, an iconic setting celebrated for its refined cuisine and cinematic heritage. The restaurant famously appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film “The Man Who Knew Too Much,” adding a touch of timeless glamour to this cultural experience.
Continue to the legendary Jemaa El Fna Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As evening falls, the square transforms into an open-air theatre filled with storytellers, musicians, snake charmers, and food stalls serving local specialties. Thereafter proceed to your hotel for check-in and some time to refresh before rejoining the group for a horse-drawn carriage ride through the illuminated streets. Enjoy dinner and soak in the city’s enchanting nightlife, before returning to your hotel.
DAY 2
Following breakfast at the hotel, settle any incidentals and check out before meeting your guide. The day begins with a visit to Palmeraie of Marrakech, a vast palm grove on the city’s outskirts offering a peaceful escape and a glimpse into Morocco’s traditional way of life. Upon arrival, meet your camel caravan and enjoy a relaxed ride through the palm groves, surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil scenery. The gentle pace of the camels and the calm of the oasis create a serene and authentic Moroccan experience.
After the ride, unwind in a local camp and enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast served with mint tea and fresh local treats before continuing your journey toward Casablanca, Morocco’s modern and cosmopolitan city. Drive time is approximately three-hours.
Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic drive through Casablanca’s elegant boulevards, passing by the Corniche seafront, the Anfa residential area, and United Nations Square — symbols of the city’s contemporary spirit.
A highlight of the day is the visit to the Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest and most impressive mosques in the world. Standing proudly on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, it showcases Morocco’s architectural mastery and spiritual grace.
Conclude your day with a delicious Moroccan lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to the pier for re-embarkation on your ship, carrying unforgettable memories of Morocco — from the tranquil palm groves of Marrakech to the vibrant coastal charm of Casablanca.
